Troop 8 attended the Wings Over Wayne Airshow at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. We spent Friday and Saturday night at the campgrounds on base. On Saturday afternoon, we watched the air show on base featuring the Thunderbirds.

Troop 8 camped at the Jordan Lake Reservoir in Hope Valley, NC. We borrowed canoes from Camp Tuscarora so that scouts could canoe and fish on Saturday. The weather was perfect for outdoor activities, and everyone enjoyed spending time on the water and around the campsite.

Troop 8 headed to Uwharrie National Forest for a backpacking trip. We spent Friday night at the usual campgrounds before setting out on the trail Saturday morning. That night, we camped along the trail and then backpacked out Sunday morning. The trip was a great opportunity for scouts to practice their backpacking skills.

Troop 8 went to the Adirondacks, located on the BSA reservation at Camp Tuscarora. We stayed there for the entire weekend, fishing, hiking trails, and time spent together as a troop in the outdoors.

Our next campout will take place at the Adirondacks in Camp Tuscarora. This campout is a fun campout and one time it snowed! 

Troop 8 went to Stone Mountain State Park located in Roaring Gap, NC.  We hiked seven miles to the summit of the mountain. We also swam in the waterfall. 

Our April outing is planned for Jordan Lake State park, which is located west of Raleigh on US 64, approximately 1.5 hours drive from Goldsboro.

This is an activity that everyone will be able to enjoy, including newer Scouts and Scouts with physical restrictions. If available we will rent canoes from camp Tuscarora, our campsite is reserved for the Vista Point Group site, and can launch the canoes directly from our campsite.

Troop 8 we are camping at Tuscarora this weekend for our annual recruitment campout event. We will be doing activities around camp including fishing, hiking, cooking, and canoeing. Scouts will plan a full day of events and take advantage of hammock camping, cooking, merit badge advancement, the opportunities are endless.

Troop 8 is attending the Camp Tuscarora Annual Summer Camp which lasts for one week. We will be meeting at New Hope Church on Sunday the 23 leave for camp. During the week, the scouts will be learning new skills and studying merit badges. These awards will be awarded at the following Court of Honor at the start of our scouting year.

Troop 8 is going to the Merchant Mills Pond State Park for a backpacking trip. The length is about 7 miles.
